I remember my first day of work at Xport, three months ago. I was very excited for what that experience was going to provide me and for having the opportunity to contribute to the company. In addition, I was warmly welcomed by all the members of both, Xport and BSTR, which indicated the great atmosphere around the office.
During the time I was working at Xport I was finishing my master studies and figuring out what to do next in my career. That is why it has been a busy, dynamic but rewarding period that helped me to develop myself even further.
Regarding the main tasks I was working on, some of them were very much related to market research, which improved my searching skills and my ability to analyse markets and competition effectively. Moreover, I had the chance to use my mother tongue, Spanish, by being the contact person with potential partners in Spain. Therefore, I could enhance my communication skills in both English and Spanish while doing cold calling and translation work.
I personally enjoy more the creative and dynamic work rather than the repetitive routines. One of the advantages of working in a consulting company as Xport is that you are always given projects from many different industries and fields, from which you can learn something new every day.
When it comes to determining the most valuable experiences from my work placement I could mention, for example, having the opportunity to meet clients from high positions and try to provide them with solutions for their businesses, doing the sales work for some of our customers and, most importantly, interacting with my office co-workers on a daily basis. From my point of view, building meaningful connections is what really matters at the end. The world is built by people and that is why creating a great network that is aware of your potential is essential to be successful in today’s business life.
My work placement has come to its end and I want to thank the teams at Xport and BSTR for this valuable, unforgettable time and for being supportive and flexible with my situation. One of the things I enjoyed the most, was the fact that they all are like a family at the office. They work hard when they have to but at the same time they know how to have fun. And that is what makes a place special.
I was impressed by the vibes and great atmosphere and I felt integrated from the very beginning as a part of this big family. For my future projects, I hope I end-up in a company with such a friendly, pleasant environment and such a qualified, experienced team.
